Long Timber – Europe
| |
The transport of long timber is one of the most demanding of all transportation tasks. Logs of lengths of up to 22 m have to be transported from the forest to storage yards or sawmills. No easy job on tracks that are more like hikers' trails than public roads, some of which have a steep gradient and most are extremely winding.
Ideally suited to this application is the DOLL self-steering trailer. The tried-and-trusted hydraulic steering system provides exact steering of the dolly and guarantees the manoeuvrability required in the forest.
A loading crane mounted on the tractor enables the driver to load the logs on his own. This ensures the cost effectiveness of this high-tech vehicle.
